Question:
Why am I getting an 'insufficient disc space' or 'incompatible writing format' error when I try to write to a new formatted disc?
Answer:
Make sure you are using a blank, unformatted disc. The error you are seeing is usually generated when a disc is being used that has been previously formatted by Direct CD or a similar program. The reason for this is that formatting a CD-R/RW disc is NOT like formatting a floppy disk. When you format a blank CDRW disc with a particular piece of software, a UNIQUE file structure is written to that disc so that it can only be used by that specific piece of software. Most likely, that specific file structure is incompatible with Backup NOW!. To fix this problem, try doing a quick erase to the CDRW disc, it that is still unsuccessful, then do a full erase on the CDRW disc.
